While family and friends are almost always well-intentioned, it's easy for information to be misinterpreted or changed as it is shared down the line - *think Chinese whispers*.
One thing women don't need is unsolicited advice.
The world bombards women with unsolicited advice. This advice can be based on outdated gender roles and societal pressures, and can lead to women feeling like they are not in control of their own lives. Additionally, this advice can be conflicting and confusing, making it difficult for women to make their own decisions.
When it comes to money advice, shut them down!
There is no shortage of opinions about what you should do with your money. Don't let these opinions overwhelm you; it's important to stay focused on your personal financial goals.
When accepting advice - ask yourself.
Are they experts? It's not a good idea to ask an electrician for medical advice - the same is true for financial advice.
Is the information accurate? Perhaps your cousin did read an interesting article from a reputable source and his information about superannuation investments is accurate, but maybe it isn't.
Is it relevant for you? Take your current circumstances and future plans into account when making financial decisions. There is no point purchasing an investment property or starting to invest in shares if there is no strategy behind it.
If you are unsure about the information, don't act on it until you've done your own research and spoken with a Certified Financial Planner.
